We support Special Gifts Theatre because we support all theatre. We are so proud of the work that you do to give such a great experience in theatre to all students, and we are glad to be a part of it. The drama club at GBS loves theatre and strives to support theatre at GBS and in the community.

Illinois Theatre Fest
Consider joining the drama club this year on a great overnight field trip! Illinois Theatre Fest is at Illinois State University in Normal this January 11-13. It is a great opportunity to see and experience different types of high school theatre, as well as take some interesting workshops!

Illinois High School Theatre Festival
Jan. 11-13, 2018
The Illinois High School Theatre Festival provides wonderful opportunities to experience great literary works, new plays, and original pieces. You can learn from a wide range of theatre workshops presented by theatre professionals. You will interact with other drama students from across the state at Illinois State University. You will also get to see the all-state production of the musical Big Fish.

Cost is $165.00 for registration at the festival and hotel stay
· Note—This field trip is directly before final exams. You must be in good standing in all your classes in order to go on the trip! Friday, Jan. 12 is a non-attendance day (reserved snow day), so you won’t be missing much school--just Block 4 on Thursday, Jan. 11. Mon, Jan. 15, is also a non-attendance day (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
***Cost: $50.00 for registration fees and $115.00 for hotel fees —please make checks of $165.00 payable to GBS Drama Club (Accepted by Mr. Knight or Mrs. Barber) MONEY AND MEDICAL FORM DUE BY Friday, OCT. 6

1. Leave at 2:00 pm from the Drama/Dance room on Thursday, Jan. 11th
2. Arrive at hotel—Hampton Inn, Normal, Illinois
3. Opening ceremonies on Thursday night in the Bone Student Center
4. Leave Illinois State University for home at approximately 1:30 on Saturday the 7th. (Arrive at GBS approximately 5:00)
5. Seniors auditioning for college scholarships: You will have an informational meeting Thursday night before the opening ceremony. Extra $20 fee.

Food: You will be responsible for your own food…there are many restaurants in and around the ISU campus, which we will be attending as a group. Breakfast is included at the hotel.
Pack lightly: We will only be at the festival Friday and Saturday.
Remember, all school rules and policies apply on field trips. You will be sent home if you are in violation of any rules.
Cancellation policy: Unfortunately, we cannot refund any money after December 1st for this trip, as it is pre-paid.
